What is the rarest, most collectable 3rd-gen?
I know I want to buy another FD once I pay this one off, one with less miles and more value as a collector's peice. What is the most prized 3rd-gen. model? Is it the competition-yellow-mica R1? Or the chaste-white R2's? Or is it the '02 Spirit-R? (can you even find a genuine Spirit-R available for sale these days). Or maybe something else? What kind of price do you think the car would go for in today's market?

What do you think a numbers-matching, low-mileage, chaste-white '95 R2 will sell for?
P.S.
Is it called "chaste-white" or "chase-white"?

No idea, but if you're look at low mileage, be ready to dish it out. I found a '95 Black R2 with 50k miles and I was ready to turn out 16k in a heart beat because that car is worth 20k+ in my mind. I mean go look at how many '95 there are registered in the US, you have to take that into consideration.

U can get a good running chaste white for about $15 to 20K, that is really low milage.

It's Chaste White. However, 1994 and 1995 R2's did not come in Chaste White- they only came in Brilliant Black, Vintage Red, and Silverstone Metallic. If you do see a 1995 CW R2, it's not original.
1993 R1's came in Brilliant Black, Vintage Red, and Competition Yellow Mica.

CYM isn't really that rare, weren't there less whites made in some models and CYM? I may be misinformed, but I thought I had read that somewhere. Really, a White '95 with low mileage and untouched would be my pick.

Most collectable, hands down, would be the australian SP - lowest ever production run, most power (debatable), absolutely the best selection of (mostly unique) upgrades.
some might say the sp-II - but as there is only one of those, and it wasn't, technically, sold from the showroom (it was patched back together from the base car and its parts), its status is tenuous.

Keep in mind, a Silver R2 is actually rarer when looking at packages and production #s than a CYM R1. But overall in less "desirable" packages there were more silvers. I'd say either a Silver R2 or a CYM R1 would be the two most sought after models.

To the best of my knowledge the rarest is a factory rally car. About 156 we made and shipped out. Take your time and find one. It will be worth big money. Or get a production model. It will be worth some coin also.
