What radiator cap?

I know this is a common question, so don't flame me. I searched about what cap to use but I haven't really come to a clear answer.

My problem is a leaky petit AST cap (there is white plaque on the inner side of the cap and black crud all around the inner brim). I figured I would replace this cap and the other main thermostat cap as well. Can someone tell me what brand is best and where to get it... ie. mazda dealer, autozone, petit, etc. I think petit owes me a new cap.

Chris

I'm positive that at Autozone, I saw the "Pettit AST Cap" for cheap. Just get the faulty AST cap and compare it at Autozone.

A Stant radiator cap for any domestic car, make sure it has a vent lever and is 13lbs...

Available at your local Autozone.

I went to discount auto parts today. The lev-r is a stant 11329 and the replacement for the stock one above thermostat is 11227. They fit right and hopefully this will solve my problem.

The original was about 16PSI then Mazda changed to a 13PSI due to low quality original hoses.

Since I always keep my newer hoses in good condition, I went back to a 16PSI by STANT.

I also use M2 steet/comp radiator, 25% Dexcool, 75% distilled water, Water Wetter; PFC fan controls set at 86,86,88, fan mod switch, radiator ducting, and
Mazdaspeed replica hood. All help to keep 370+RWHP cool.

I recently went to a 16PSI cap for the same reason, but unfortunately, the coolant level sensor plastic housing cracked and started leaking coolant. I replaced it and went back to the 13PSI cap. Anybody else have this happen to them?
