what parts should I get while my engine's out?
I will be getting my new engine put in sometime soon and I'm wondering if there are any other parts that I should get that would be easier to install while the engine is out. I already have the complete silicon hose kit, but I know there must be some other things that I will want to get out of the way while there's a big hole in the middle of my engine bay.

Yeah ... everything is easier to install while it's out! But seriously, you should consider a better radiator while it's out (DK said "Koyo") ... a downpipe if you don't have it ... you could even add an extra oil cooler. Check all of your oil, coolant, PS, etc. lines all over and just make sure that they're in good shape. Also, it'd be a lot easier to go parallel while it's out, if that's something you'd consider.

I don't have enough money for all of this!!
I need to get a Haltech fuel management system and bigger injectors next because the engine is already streetported and will be running rough without suffiecient fuel. So that's about $2000 right there. I wanna get that sucker in there soon anyways. Maybe I could get all of the stuff mentioned if I won the lottery.
It's good to hear from you DK!
Everything went great with Carlos and I will be doing business with him again when I have enough money to get the fuel stuff in. Hopefully that will be before summer.

If you intend to go Haltech then my understanding is you'll need the Haltech wiring harness and the time to get the wiring harness installed is while you have the engine out. This should be tops on your list despite the fact that all of the previous suggestions are very good.

New pulsation Dampner, this sits on top of the engine under all the solinoids. It smoothes out the gas before it goes into the injector rails. Basically I was in exactly your situation, then after I got the engine in the first time I cranked it the pulsation dampner was "spraying fuel". So I had to take the upper plenum off of the car and try and replace it. I will not lie it was very difficult. Spend the 130 bucks and buy a new one, trust me it's worth it.!
Oh and if the car is just sitting there, replace the fuel filter. Very difficult to do, but if you have the time and you want to work on the car, that's the thing to do.
hope this helps.
