What other mods would you recommend?

I was wondering what other mods I should to add to my new car. I bought a '93 with 57000 miles on it two weeks ago and any assistance would be greatly appreciated.
Mods: Greddy Turbo Timer, Greddy Boost Controller, Greddy Blowoff Valve, Under drive pulley kit, stainless steel brake lines, new spec clutch, Greddy front mount intercooler w/ 3" piping, Greddy elbow, 3" turbo exhaust w/ high flow cat and muffler, Pettit unlimited ECU, Battery relocation kit w/ Optima Red Battery, Fluidyne Radiator w/overflow kit and aluminum air separator tank,
A-pillar gauge pod with boost and a/f ratio meters, and
Atkins rotary rebuild kit 2-3k miles ago.
I'm new to all of this and once again I appreciate any help. Also does anyone know of a good place to take my car in Kansas City, MO. to have it tuned and worked on. Thanks.

Congratulations, sounds like a nice car. The stock temp guage on the FD is worthless. I'd add a temp guage. And maybe they don't qualify as mods but since you just bought the car, other things you might want to consider...
1. Change oil and filter
2. Changing out the transmission and diff fluids.
3. Check/replace your spark plugs.
4. Get a factory service manual or download one for free here:

are you boosting more than the stock 10psi? i would put a walbro 255 fuel pump in there too to keep the fuel pressure up.

The pettit should be good for now unless you go single.

Get yourself a apexi power FC , commander, datalogic and a nice wideband and you wont regret it. Walbro 255 fuel pump, 850 primaries, 1600 secondaries and secondary fuel rail with fuel regulator if you want to up the boost. Then get Steve kan from Gothamracing.com to visit Kansas for a nice tuning session, but tell him to street tune it..

It does sound like a nice car. Show us some pics. What did it cost you?

Is the suspension stock? Wheels? Short shifter, Strut tower brace, Torque Brace...

Thanks. It cost $11000.00. The suspension was lowered but I don't know what kind it is. I run it at 10psi. I'll be happy to post some pics.

Before you choose your next mod, I suggest you get more familiar with what you have, and which of the items you listed are / are not actually power mods. Especially since you didn't specify some of the critical power considerations: fuel and boost.

From the FAQ: https://www.rx7club.com/showthread.p...threadid=27094

I would continue to focus on maintenance items:
- oil and fuel filters
- coolant sensor
- suspension bushings
- fluids (bleed brakes, clutch, tranny, diff, coolant)
- plugs and wires

Then consider fuel system upgrades and retuning for more power.

I would say the single most important "upgrade" at this point would be a new fuel filter. Especially if you don't know how long it has been since the last time it was replaced. Good luck with it.

Replace every single coolant hose.

Oops - I wrote coolant sensor, and I meant to write coolant hoses, like DamonB said. Anyway, I think the importance of those is now very clear.

i'd say don't touch a thing. do basic maintenance like the fuel filter, plugs, wires, tranny/diff oil.

definitely do a compression check to see how healthy the motor is. also maybe go do a dyno run logging air/fuel ratios to get a baseline of how the car is setup now.

too many people get mod happy and wind up making the car worse.

I run stock 10psi. I haven't changed the boost controller since I bought the car. No fuel mods have been added. Is that the best way to get more power?

Plus that link is very useful.

THANKS.

I'm going to be in the same situation as you are currently in. I should be picking up my FD sometime late this week, or next week. Once I get it, I planned on doing the maintenance and getting used to the car for a while, and then I'll look into mods sometime around spring (after I've recooped all the money for the maintenance and saved some for mods).

About the fuel system... I don't think it was suggested as a 'power adder', but more as a precautionary measure before you do more mods. If you're going to modify and up the boost, you'll need more fuel, so it seems logical to drain the pressure in the lines, switch the pump and filter now, and then you'll be ready for the power mods (after injectors and tuning). Good luck with the car, and it seems like you picked up a decent deal.

Oh yeah. After I change the pump and filter what boost would be safe to run?
