I am hearing a lot of new noises now that I have installed (hopefully correctly) the Apexi intake. Is this normal?

1) Ya, I heard my stock BOV real good for the first time after the Apex install.

2) I also get a dying goose sound with throttle anywhere between 1/3 and 2/3's. At WOT I don't hear it, but might be because other sounds drown it out.

3) Other whoosh & moo sounds too, but I've discovered I might have put the restrictor pill in the wrong hose.

Will try to get confirmation tonight on which hose the restritor pill goes in and move it to see if I can get rid of sounds 2 & 3.

Sound 1 can stay, I love it...

I've got the restrictor in the hose that the instructions said to put it in. I do not get the mooing sound.

The intake sounds awesome! At first I thought my BOV needed to be readjusted!

Is it possible to get upgraded intake pipes to use in conjunction with the APEXi power intake, instead of the ugly OEM ones?

Yes. Apexi makes tubes but apparently they are not available from rx7store. You can get them from the "other online rotary performance store" which I would recomend! If you don't know who I am talking about PM me. Also, I am told the M2 pipes work with it, but I have not tried this myself.
