i guess next thing to try would be actually driving it and hitting moderate boost?

while i haven't ruled out the turbo, the only thing that i don't understand is that my oil level on the dipstick is completely full. not "almost" full, it shows no loss of level

it doesn't look like you really lost much...emulsiifed oil looks bad, but not alot of volume is required

another thought i just had........isn't it a lil odd, that the last time i had driven the car, it didn't spill out everywhere like that when i parked it........ yet when i was just letting the car warm up that morning, all of a sudden it splattered all over like that? seems way too fishy.....

um, your first post indicates you did some high boost runs and then discovered the problem the next morning

right, but i had to drive the car home after that run (about 25 minutes mostly highway) and then let it sit in the garage like i usually do to cool off........ why wouldn't it have been pissing all over itself at that point? know what i mean? and no, unfortunately i didn't check anything that morning so its hard to say

The extremely weird thing about all this is that you've found no trace of oil any where else in the cooling system. I don't know of any way else for the oil to get into the recovery tank without it going through your system. Now if somebody was messing with you and filled your recovery tank with oil then when your coolant expanded into the tank it would of course push the oil/coolant out. I run Evans so I'm very interested in your findings. Do you run your system with zero pressure or did you retain the stock pressure cap? But again provide with some form of logic that would allow the cooling system to be oil free and it only get into your recovery tank...........this would be a very impressive feat.

I had some brown sludge at the the bottom of my overflow last year when i was having some coolant issuses.
and had no idea what it was .. but it was preventing the coolant to be returned back to the Radiatior when the car was cooling down.
anyway i flushed out the overflow tank and ran the car from PA to NY and had no problems.
I never knew what the sluge was but now that i am reminded about it, i think i am going to pull it again and see if there is anymore in the over flow.

usually it takes a little while for after shut down for max temp rise and fluid expansion to occur, if you just idled with the fans on and then went into the house you may have missed it

tonites update.......i drove the car for about 2 minutes around the block, normal acceleration no boost...... checked everything over, no problems whatsoever

so then i took it on the highway and did partial throttle with about 7-10psi in 3rd and 4th gear as i was merging off the on ramp......came back home..... checked everything over no problems again

then finally, i gave it a WOT pull thru 2nd and into 3rd.....came back, checked everything, no problems.

i'll see what tommorow morning brings after the car cools down completely, at this point tho i see NO trace of this mysterious oil that had previously been taking over my overflow tank

hmm, reddish tint to the oil?

do you have an auto tranny still by chance?

hint: the tranny cooler is in the radiator.

Are you sure no one grabbed the oil instead of the coolant when adding a little?

yea i do all my own maintenance except my last oil change because i ddn't have a jack low enough to get under the car. i took it to my buddy's shop, he's done work on my car before so i know he takes care of it. just for the hell of it i called him the other day to ask if for SOME reason he mistakenly poured somthing into that tank, he says he didn't touch it and i'm gonna have to beleive him.
