Just started using this place properly, seems alot more active than the UK sites

I find the stock seats pretty unsupportive. The seats in my old MR2 were much better and had

Height adjust
bolster adjust
lumber adjust

Thinking about swapping in a retrimmed MR2 seat to be honest!!

I agree but in more ways than safety. The LED mod was costly and turned out to be unsafe. Spent way too much time chasing a solution only to have to do it myself.

That's bad but what is the worst part is the general rancor and upheaval it caused on the forum. What used to be a civil place turned ugly quite quickly and has stayed that way ever since. It's no longer a unified community much to the detriment of us all.

Deciding on a full out build up instead of just replacing the engine with a brand new stock one... which I HAD... and not driving the car for the last 7 years.

Various intakes for the stock twins... pettit and blitz setups. When deciding to build making sure all the parts will fit together is a must.
Using the supplied throw-out bearing in the hdss act clutch kit. It ending up only letting the right side of the clutch engage. Taking the trans off twice wasn't fun. OEM TOB is the way to go.

I have the basic mods with a pfc. 300hp Stock int/ext, stock suspension.
Mods installed and pfc tuned by Chris at Banzai. Runs great. No regrets.

I tell my friends the only mod I have are tailpipes. I give them a ride and they're amazed. lol

I still love my led tail lights, though they weren't part of the original group buy

^ Glad to hear it Bryan. My redone units are still preforming flawlessly and I too love the way they look.

Looks over performance. Spending too much time focusing on little things that were visually unpleasant like broken switches, and overspray on the body instead of worrying about how the car ran. Also not purchasing the entire rebuild kit that included new bearings and an oil pump chain. Saving a hundred here and there = no more FD for me. So lesson learned if it's gonna cost an extra hundo or two to get the parts you need do it. Don't ever buy a used harness either that was a waste. This car doesn't like second hand, it's like new, shiny things. It's like a classy lady and it deserves the same respect. You wouldn't take Jennifer Lawrence to McDonalds to save a few bucks so why do it with your car?

Anyone here regret going with a single setup?

I have a fairly simple single setup on my BB but the AC never worked right. Randomly my car starting breaking up in the higher RPMs and map needed adjusting.

I picked up a VR that has non seq twins, SMIC, DP, aftermarket exhaust and on stock ECU and it’s fairly fun to drive.

Currently in the process of building a single setup on my wife’s MB FD. I’m having to upgrade FP, injectors, went with a new flying lead harness for the haltech ps1000 and still trying to nail down tuning.

Kind of wished I went with new 99 twins, gaskets, nuts, nuts bolts, SMIC, DP and PFC and sent it off to Banzai for tuning. I think I would have been happy with 330 – 350 whp.

I think I would like the FD more if it could pass emission, have a stock clutch feel and good working AC.

Anyone else in the same boat?

Didn't go single, but that's my next step. Currently on non-seq twins.

The biggest regret I did was cut out the inside trim behind the AC panel so I could fit a Nexus 7. Now I would have to modify it with a cage if I wanted to add a single-din radio...

^ Reason for single-din over a double-din touch screen? I'm thinking about overhauling the stereo system this year, and looking to move away from the single-din.

Johnny, you need to convert that VR back to seq twins

Currently running the 03-05 OEM Miata Radio with Aux-in and Bluetooth Receiver. When I switch to Single Turbo, I plan to run my Gauges in a single din slot (if it can fit). Maybe run a single din cubby to finally have a place for my phone. I will still have music if I run a compact amp with aux-in/bluetooth from my phone. Nothing set in stone as of yet.

Biggest regret --- JimLab Unobtanium nylon bushings. Next after that is any aftermarket vented hood --- tried many, all don't fit anywhere close to OEM.

Curious as why you want to go with a single setup? More power?

Johnny, you need to convert that VR back to seq twins
Yea a part of me wants to leave it alone cause it's working but another part of me is wanting me to convert it back to seq.

Yeah, I put a resonated mid-pipe on the FD and immediately regretted it and put a catted resonated mid-pipe on.

I put up with 15 years of no cat rotary with my TII , I know what it is like to slide into bed early in the morning with my ears ringing and stinking like rotary exhaust from a late night tuning session.

Now there is a local dyno and I got a cat; I feel so spoiled and my hair is coming back in.

More power, better response (I am aiming for an EFR 8374 IWG), simpler set up and less heat. My twins are on their way out, and it's the only thing I don't trust in my engine bay, everything else is pretty much new with a rebuilt engine... I had to fix up alot of stuff from the previous owner. BNR's would have been a great upgrade but I don't have a sequential set up (from PO) so there's no going back for me now.

Ahh, yeah space is an issue, my EBC is in the single din cubby so I'll have to find another place for it if I go with a double-din. Gauge wise I have a quad pod so I'm good, my phone doesn't fit in the cubby with the EBC, so I just throw it on the passenger seat.

Make sense. I love the EFR setup. Do you not have to pass emissions there?

No emission in NY State for cars 1995 and older.
