****, I agree with you 100%. My solar powered blender is more reliable than the apex seals in a rotary. Then again, if you have the car tuned right, you shouldn't worry.....but that's a whole different debate
But hey, you know some people would get just slightly irritated the day someone puts a rotary in a C5 just because someone had some money to burn
Kinda like that Grand National motor in that C3 I saw once.....
Ok here's a trick question for ya....
Why not just buy a C5

And yes the C5 is a great car but i think the rx7 looks better and i think it would be a sweet little car to mess with plus it will be rare (which is cool).....oh and you need to go to torquecentral.com and look at brian hinsons car...he just got done running a 10.1 with an ls1 in it...how many rotary powered motors are puttin down over 520 to the rear wheels?

Why do you think the rotary is so shitty? You've never even owned one? Have you even ever driven one?

Just feel if you want a boinger, then get a car that allready came with one, and leave the few FDs remaining for the rotary enthusiasts.
I have nothing against V8s. I like em, and I'm planning to convert my daily beater into the Jspec V8 version someday....someyear Today I even thought....instead of modding a Nissan V8, why not just drop in an LS1. The aftermarket is certainly there. Of course, it WOULD be nice just to keep it in the family, drop in the Nissan V8, and maybe place a nice Vortech to the side

I'm talking about the guys who love the car for what it is, and not for the "Guess what. I got an FD" factor.
To think I had to drive the FD in the snow 2 times because my previous daily beater blew a head gasket. Ironic, isn't it

As you can see, different model's weights aren't TOO different (transmissions non-withstanding). The weight differences are due to the various equipment packaging, which, except for the sunroof and trans, are bolt-on (of if you want to reduce weight: bolt-off).

jesus christ.... I come home, I load up the forum looking to share some knowledge or learn me something and so far all I have is a bunch of garbage to sort thru in my pursuit of knowledge.
Please, as suggested by someone else, get the hell out of here.
I swear this place gets worse and worse

whats wrong up you people who jump to conclusions "ohh you dont want an ls1? you hate ls1s!!!???"
i dont hate pistons... i mean if i had money it take a z06 or a new shelby cobra or an enzo. some of us here got the fd for what it really is. its just that cool to be able to squeeze lots of power maybe "520 hp" (oh boy!) out of a tiny engine. i believe several single turbo people have attained such a hp-ness. not to mention it is cool that it spins in a circle and makes weird noises at very high rpms. and yes even for a 10 year old car i still havent seen a prettier car or even close.
and it seems like most people think the rotary is a lot worse than it really is. i believe it is based on the the result of many owners playing the self-proclaimed master mechanic and fuxoring up due to lack of knowledge (yes you have to *** up to learn, but do it on an FC, much cheaper) or people that just dont know how to take care of this thing or people that just mod it with a massive turbo and NOS or something and no ECU or something stupid like that. basically lots of STUPID people who dont know how to take care of it but think they do. it is fragile and takes more precise attention. it is a bitch to take care of and maintain and mod but if you do it right you will be fine.
if i had money to burn id probably try buying a salvage fd and making it some kind of "MR-7".
right now i just want a motorcycle. who wants to buy me a y2k? and the motor supposedly weighs 130 lbs, with 350 hp, 450ft-lbs!! sounds like a candidate for the mr-7. or even just a "swap"!
i drive a piece of **** 98 corolla in rain/snow!
or i have my neighbor take me in her jeep liberty!
