What to look for in buying a new battery?

Hi Guys,

I own a 1999, RX7, need to get a new battery and was hoping you could tell me what to look for in buying a new battery? Specs, Amps & CCA etc?

at least 500cca, the higher the better due to rpm required for starting. the higher you can get the rpm on startup the less chance for flooding. i'm about to run a honda civic 500cca in mine so i can shift my smic off my radiator hose =-)

It's your choice, really. Aside from fitment, for a sports car smaller/lighter is better for performance, but bad if you have a bigger stereo and it won't have the same startup durability.

Personally, I always buy a stock sized battery and get one with a warranty - not the longest warranty with the most expense, but something in the middle.
