I've heard Mazda is no longer selling re-manufactured 13b-rew short blocks. I think rebuild prices have been going up over the years. I'm not as up-to-speed on the current availability of new engine parts (rotors, housings, irons, eccentric shafts) as many of you guys are. What is the long term plan for having new engine internals? With all the advances in technology it seems like somebody other than Mazda could make new parts but the cost would probably be extremely high and I'm not sure if it could be done legally. Every time I see a post about a blown apex seal or another ruined engine I wonder about getting an engine in 5, 10, 15 years. Is there anything to worry about? Any chance one of you guys who runs a rotary shop would chime in and shed some light? Surely you fellas having been thinking about this for years.
