Need help With Primary Inlet Elbow removal

Hi everyone.
I have searched for quite a while and I am finding nothing to help me with this.
I have also looked at the factory service manual and I have an idea about what to do, but I'm not 100% clear, so here it goes:

I need to replace the primary inlet elbow. A nipple was damaged and it has come off.
I managed to loosen and remove the two nuts that hold it in place, but only after -and to my sour surprise- did I find that the bastard is sitting behind 2 flanges that are part of a vacuum lines hub (and once again, I scratch my head looking at this detail's design, but on with the story).

So, it is obvious that the metal lines need to move out of the studs for the inlet to come off, however, I need help with what to do here.

Can I pull the thing gently out (I don't think so, but I'm hoping somebody tells me I can), or do I have to really get in there and unhook all the hoses that go to it first, remove that, then the elbow, then reinstall?
Thank you for your input.

Giovanni

I just "gently" I pulled mine. Had a screw driver to pull the metal lines away
