what kinda HP can u run on pump?
what kinda HP can u run on pump?
Pump octane goes up to 91 correct? Anyways, how much HP would you need to be out of the range of 91 octane gas? I see 400 rwhp rx-7's posted on the forums...can they run on premium gas at the stations? thanks for the help
It's entirely dependent on your fuel/ignition/turbo setup. If all aspects are dialed in, you could get 800 hp out of pump gas if you wanted to. It's learning to get to that point safely that's the hard part.
93 here in NC too. Or you can go with the 100 for 3.99 /gallon. When my dad drives my car everyonce and a while he will put 5 gallon of this in. You can feel a hell of a difference.

Get your car tuned on a dyno by a profesional who knows his way around a PFC.
The higher the octane, the lower the burning temperature = less power... You need to be tuned to take advantage of higher octane fuel. The reason to run a higher octane on a street (untuned) setup is for that extra marjin of safety.
110 octane is usually leaded, which is fine if you're running a midpipe (no worries of ruining your hi-flow cat). Unleaded high octane would be Sunoco GT at 104. I run a midpipe, so I can put 110 octane in my fuel tank
As others posted, the higher the octane you put in, the larger the safety margin and protection from pinging (detonation), which is a result of turning up the boost and momentarily running a lean AFR during a transition boost spike (assuming you have sequential twins).

Also, I make ~400 to the wheels on 93 octane all day, every day.
