What kind of Watertemp gauge are you using
?? did you have to bore the hole bigger for the new temp sensor ???
cuz I was looking at this mechanical autometer gauge and the sensor was huge..
are there any particular brands that fit with little/ or no drilling,.. mechanical or electronic

Do you mean putting the new sensor in the origional location? That I don't know, but the install is really easy if you install a T in the coolant line for the throttle body. Seems to be equal accuracy.

Just my opinion, if you put the sensor any place not in the block, if the water pump fails pumping, or you suffer a partial loss of coolant, that sender location might not be very indicative of true engine temp. Just something to think about.
