No, 15W-50 in the summer, 10W-40 in the winter months.

Plus shipping, and from what I gathered in that oil thread the shipping added around 20% to the cost!

For those who didn't read all 42 pages, it looks like Renewable's "HD" oils have the fuel dilution improvements developed for that guy's Audi direct-injection V8.

Both from a Mobil site:

Will the use of Mobil 1 void my new-car warranty?

With the exception of the Mazda rotary engine (Mazda does not recommend any synthetic oils), Mobil 1 will not void new-car warranties. Mobil 1 exceeds the API and ILSAC engine-oil service requirements of all new-car manufacturers, both import and domestic. If in doubt, always check your vehicle owner’s manual or contact your vehicle’s manufacturer.
Question:
Using Mobil 1 in a Mazda Rotary Engine
I have a 2005 Mazda RX-8. This has a rotary engine, which injects oil into its intake path. Can I use Mobil 1 without risk of incomplete oil burn and or buildup?
-- Matt Hejnas, Central Valley, NY
Answer:
Mazda does not recommend the use of synthetic oils in its rotary engines. To help maintain your vehicle's warranty coverage, we suggest that you follow your car builder's engine oil recommendation.

The 'synthetic oil being detrimental to rotaries' thing is ridiculous.

Synthetic Idemitsu was formulated specifically for use in......you guessed it, rotaries.

I've torn down many many motors, and the ones run primarily on synthetic showed less wear.

Great article. Now I know to use 0w-XX weight in synthetic, the only question is what is the second number we should be running? I'm assuming 30-40.

Which ever one yields 50psi @ 3000rpm.

I used to use RP 10w30. I'm using 15w40 now. Once i get my heat exchangers in order i might drop back to 10w30 depending on how everything works out.

I currently use Mobil 1 10-30 but I'll be switching to Redline on my next oil change.
