Dynoed and tuned by Steve Kan but one weird issue

First of all, my car runs super smooth right now...I love it! Stock twins, dp, intake, hi-flo cat, exhaust, 0.9bar and netted 293hp at the wheel, I am very happy.

One issue I found out during the tune is that the fuel cuts off exactly at 7000rpm. It did that consistantly for 3 runs. I am using an OOOOOLD school PFS purple box, which is sufficient for my mods, and the software indicates fuel cut at 8100rpm. Steve Kan couldn't figure out what the problem is...he did indicate that auto FDs have fuel cut at 7k rpm but I know for a fact that my car is not a converted 5speed. Thoughts?

run your V.I.N.# to verify. your ECU could be an auto version.

Call Ray WIlson @ PFSupercars. He's the owner now and knows the purple motor eater better than anyone. You may just want to invest in to a Power Fc.

I already ran the VIN so for sure my car is 5 speed, HOWEVER, maybe the previous owners COULD put in an auto ECU but even if that's the case, shouldn't the PFS override the stock ecu anyways since PFS fuel cut is at 8100.

PFS purple box is old school. I used to mess around with piggy backs but just go stand alone. Its $$$ but WORTH every penny of it........

Interesting... I would go with what some people said, upgrade to the powerfc. Much better support and info on it. If you want to keep the pfs box do what erniet said and give ray a call. Got nothing to loose.

Just pop the cover on the kick panel (passenger side fender well) and see what part number is on the ecu - that will tell you if it's an auto or manual ecu and take that out of the picture.
