I was actually only kidding about the auto tranny. Im actually not sure how fast it would be with the auto tranny. I bet it would blow on your first trip down the strip though.

Does anyone know what the fastes 1/4 mile time on the stock auto tranny is?

Hrm, in OK huh.. Do you have that Scoot Hood with all the vents? If so, I think I saw your car last year at the Rotary Meet in Tulsa. We need to have another one of those.

with that much power and ET Streets, you could break 11's with your eyes closed. (and an axle too)

You should try a couple runs first with the auto to see the results and use your hold button. I've always wondered how good the 7 would be at the track with an upgraded auto and a high stall converter. Hmmmm power braking and launching at 6k without worring about shifting would be tight. Just floor it and hang on!

Most people manually shift their automatics while racing. I dont know about the auto tranny in the FD though.

i'm confused this car is auto ? and it hasn't broken yet ?

get ready to break lots of expensive parts. it took me a while in my FD and i could only muster 12.0's due to breaking extremely expensive tranny's,diffs, axles, clutches, evetrything on the driveline. it sure was fun

My hold button doesn't work with the PFC.

I pretty much baby it most of the time. I have only street raced it a few times. Against a camaro and some mustangs, and a mustang with a chevy 350 in it ( my freinds car). It is safe to say I have the fastest car around here. Total population is around 3000 for my little town.

My fd is stock and I ran 13.787, bone stock. No mods whatsoever. I haven't taken it to the track since I put in the intake and exhaust, Im waitring to get a Power FC so I can tune it right. For a 17 year old "I ShIfT mAd QuIcK yO!" hehe, Ive been practicing since I was 11 1/2. Practice makes perfect

That is why I said " with a good driver " I have never driven a manual RX-7. I have had a few other manual cars, trucks, and jeeps though. I will have to practice that speed shifting.

man get that auto out of there. I'm glad I swapped mine. The engine doesn't run as hot, also.

I am finally going to get some time off from work. On April 7th thru the 12th I will probably be laid up under the 7 cussing like a fool. I am going to try and start on it the weekend before if the weather looks nice. Then I will ride my bike the two days I have to work that week.

The wait will soon be over.

is that rwhp?

You will NOT get into 10s. I drove my car as good as I could with 380rwhp the only time I went to the track and got a 12.1@121mph with a 2.0 60 time never got traction till 55mph and let off even after the 60 foot so im not sure how much insight that gives.

if youll have that much rwhp you will get into the mid-high 11s if you drive the **** out of it

with the wheel hop I got im not sure if I even want to go to the track again now that ill have more power I may even do worse. Sure ill trap real high proving what now? Catch me on the highway and you wont see a 12.1 car itll be 10 second car

you just need a little stickier of tires. on stock tires and a near stock car i was getting 2.0 60 ft times. Being able to get traction is part of driving too you know. Most people feel that right out of the hole with garbage tires they can just step on it and win the race. It doesnt work that way.

I you'll be VERY lucky see 10s, probably not unless you have suspension/chassis upgrades, wider than stock slicks, and are an awesome driver. Try using this calculator:

http://www.prestage.com/Car+Math/default.aspx

It predicts 11.08 (based on 435hp and 3K lbs). It was really accurate with my 67 Nova, but it has 16in wide slicks and a tube chassis (I can launch at 5k rpm and hook up great). I know from launching my FD that there are a lot of ET losses, as it was not really designed for drag racing. It was also not designed to take 435 rwhp, you'll probably be breaking a lot of parts if you go all out.

Anthonty from T&R ran 11.1 ~122 mph with 386 rwhp.

Try this;

My friend pulled his motor and rebuilt it right after I beat him. He could not beleive a 1.3 liter beat him that bad. I swear there was nothing wrong with his motor. He just wanted to make it faster. He thinks he will beat me now. We we find out when he gets back from Iraq. He is making $13,000 a month driving a fork lift on an Airforce base. Man thats alot of dough.
