That sucks. At least it's just the door and not part of the unibody.

Make sure you're happy with the paint and the color match before you accept the car from the body shop. Look at it in the sunlight. Vintage Red is a hard color to match. Some old guy backed into my fender a few years ago and the front half of the car doesn't match quite right. I still wish I had made them paint it one more time.

Dom not everyone likes those girly movies like you do

Why would you park you FD in the streets? She was driving an SUV wasn't she?

I reversed my RX-7 into another one of my car's once. Now, that SUCKED! Needless to say, it made a bad day much worse.

Goodluck fixing it. Good thing you have full coverage. Definitely a necessity with these cars.

That's actually a lucky hit. Simply replace the door - no body work required.
As mentioned though the hard part will be getting a good paint match.
Good luck

Get the car inspected. It looks like it is just the door that suffered damage, but you never know.

If it is only the door...as mentioned previously...just swap in another door.
Much easier to do that, than to possibly repair and paint.

Wow. While that's a shitty thing to have happen to your car, it appears you have been remarkably lucky that the damage didn't extend off of the door. It looks like the impact only missed the unibody by just a few centimeters.

As far as insurance goes, have them buy you a new door (inner and outer) and you should be good to go.

I would make sure they take off the door panel and inspect the harness. It may have gotten pinched. Check the door plastics too, you know how easily they break.

Same thing happened to me except it was my drunk buddy. Its not that bad. Get a new door and fender from someone and replace it yourself. Save some insurance money for a new exhaust or what have you.

A couple years ago I had a garbage truck back up into my carport. The carport then collapsed on top of my FD.
