What is this ground for?

What is this ground for?

I noticed today this wire broke off the ground connector. This is in the drivers side corner of the engine bay taped up with the igniter connector. What is the point of the little box? Can I just put a butt connector on it and ground it?

YES, it is for the ignitor.

It attaches to the ignotor and like they said - repair it.
