the mazda chassis code for an thrd gen rx7 is "fd3s", so "fd" for short
and 2nd gen is fc3s... you get the picture

btw, first gens from 79-80 were SA's I think its really SA22 or something, not sure on exact nick
and 81-85 where FB3S (FB's)
