What Engine should I get?

I know this is an extremely controversial topic but i recently got my hands on a Rx7 Fd Shell and i am in a dispute between having the 13b in it and installing turbo, or ls3 swapping it. I am going for more of a daily driver so im leaning towards the ls3, however I also want to dont want to spend an absurd amount. In terms of price, reliability, time, and labor, which is the better pick?

N/A street ported 13b from an FC

Enjoy 9k-rpm redline and being able to wind out every gear on the street.

Whichever way you go retain A/C and power steering.

If you don't have an engine to start with I would probably tend to the LS if you ate interested in that.

If staying rotary I wouldn't downgrade to an older NA motor. If you are desperate to try all out NA you can get Renesis rotors machined for deeper seals to run in a semi PP REW for maximum compression but NA motors are for chrome trim cars in my opinion. You can still have a revvy turbo motor.

If you want just a stock V8 then go with a Japanese V8 like the Nissan/Infiniti VK or toyota/Lexus UZ. May be cheaper and more reliable these days due to the LS craze that drove the prices up. LS swaps used to be cheap.

For what it’s worth, I have a 1st gen v8, and do have rotary envy after the build. No matter how much I like the power.

To me, the reason you get an Rx-7 is for the rotary engine. Yes it will be more expensive and harder to track somethings down, but I do not think you will live with the wonder and regret of not having a rotary.
