I'm digging it for one big reason. It reminds me of the greatest race I've ever been in. A while back I was in a local city(Renton for you Washington people) It's pretty much the hub of the street racing scene around here. Long story short I met a dude who races in the West coast Viper challenge, when I talked to him he had just finished placing second in a competition, second to Paul Mumford(RIP). Paul's viper was the one that won the second USCC. This guy's viper was an ACR like Paul's only it was silver with blue racing stipes, and a Viper LeMans car wing. Like, it actually went off of one of their old leman vipers onto his car. The thing looked SICK! There were actually people dissing on it, but once you understand that this particular viper runs with the fastest of the land, and has higher straightaway speeds than most Hondas could ever dream of, the wing becomes a thing of functional beauty and a treasure to behold.

What am I saying? If your RX-7 wins the USCC you can have that wing

P.S. Oh yeah, I forgot to mention that I got a chance to race that viper later on that night, from about a 30mph roll he let me get a full pull through 2nd gear before he came after me(I was in my high- 13second nitrous prelude and you better believe I was spraying) the roar was defenning and he was an easy four cars ahead of me before I hit fourth.

Is it me, or are the photos you posted two completely different wings. One has single element and the other is dual-element. Also the endplates are different. I think the idea of a wing that is contoured like that might work well, especially in situations where not all the air is coming at it in a perfect angle of attack, whether it's caused by the shape of the rear hatch glass, or the rear of the car not facing directly into the wind (because it's turning/rotating/drifting/driving into a slight sidewind). Now, determining if the bend of the wing is designed to take advantage of this sounds like it would be very tough to measure accurately.

But since most people buy wings for looks anway, I slightly prefer the look of the dual-element wing, mostly for it's endplate design.

I dont like wings like that unless your road racing the car or N1 driving the car on some type of track. For street use thats a little bit over kill. R1 spoiler or 15 anny mazdaspeed spoiler are my choices..

Just about all of the major companies have a version of the Hammershark wing. Here's C-West:

However, I know RE-A has been using it for quite a while on their JGTC car.

Actually, that's what it used to be called (by C-West). They probably took flak for it since there is a wing that is shaped differently for the Silvas named Hammer Shark.
