What do you think of this deal.
I found this low mileage RX-7, but they are asking 23,995.
I'm thinking of going in and offering Kelly Blue book value.
18,800 or so.
What do you think?

Actually that car is sold... I was out in Seattle last week and I tried to go test drive it for the hell of it. They sold it the day before I went there. Some 22 year old guy bought it for $22K I think...

My 2 cents on cars with extremely low miles. Is to avoid them. With low miles they are obviously driven very rarely which is not good in my opinion. Started rarely allows for the engine to drain all the oil into the oil pan and started dry. The apex seals springs also sit in a compressed state and over time say 9 years since it is a 93 will cause springs to wear out more than being compressed and then extended like in driveing. Besides most people want to drive the car so you will loss the low mileage factor. For the price you can get a car with higher miles and rebuild the engine w/ a street port and put on other mods such as intake, exhaust, computer upgrade and some other parts. Again just my 2 cents.

Well your 2 cents are prolly the rusted old 1910 pennies cause mileage isn't added for garaging a key and starting it and letting it idle for 10 or so minutes. Just as long as the seller did something along those lines then everything should be okay.

How long have u been looking for an FD? It took me 9 excrutiating months before I found one that just "fit":
'93 touring w/44k miles, all records from the last 5 years, all synthetic, etc. for $15.5k. If the market's not right, then just be patient.... or try to look farther away.

Paid 14K for mine......94 PEP with 67K miles on it.......felt like I stole it since those cars had been going for more like 16-17K. From a private owner, btw. Try to do the same and avoid the dealer profit, which on a hot/rare car like ours they will probably make 2-3K on. Patience.

MrZUMZUM is absolutely right. Avoid the dealer like the plague. I went in to a dealer to test-drive a 93 base model. All my questions about the car were answered with a "Um... it's twin turbo." Then I find out that the car was 'borrowed' by one of the salespeople for a week cuz "hey, it's new years"....
U KNOW they don't know anything about taking care of them, let alone after some moderate test-driving...

True that if it was started it would be ok, How do you know that was actually done. The owner can say that to get the car sold. Idleing is still not driving the car. If I am buying a car I want to know that it was driven only car I would buy with extreme low miles I would not be driving it either.

fart on a friends head!!!
i almost got an fd for free once. there was one for sale in nashville and i went to go look at it. the guy said it was rare. . .i said yeah, i know. . . he said no you dont understand. . . . i said ooooooooooookay, sure. . . he said this ones NON-turbo!!!!! i then pointed out the intercooler and the turbos and asked him what they were. he said that if i showed him 10k he would bet me the car. . . how am i supposed to get a 10k loan on a sunday?!?!?!?!?!? i told him that and he said that i could afford to even look at it. this pissed me off so i had a mazda dealership call him and let him know. then i went up there with my mazdatrix catalog and pointed it out to him. what a nerd!!!
