I say "sure" to whatever they say. Let them believe whatever, I don't care. I don't like talking to people about cars or my car and it's not my business to educate them.

At my old job, there was this old school Chevy motorhead. He asked to see my motor. He then said to me, "What is that...a two cylinder engine?" All this after I had been talking about getting the car for a month, saying EVERYDAY that it was a rotary.....If more people only knew....This world would be a much better place if it were full of rotorheads.....

I usually tell them "ahh, dont worry. You probably wont understand"
This way I get them pissed off, and when they force me into telling them, then they can't tell me it's BS since I DID tell them they probably wont understand

Howadays, ive gotten sooo tired of explaining the rotary, to have these motorheads say bullshit on my hp claims (242 hp from a 1.3 liter is farfetched for them), so i just tell them i did a motor swap, and have an integrated B16 Honda engine. They seem to believe it, so i let it be

although for true car enthusiasts, i do explain my marvelous motor.

Talking No ****'t-on's

Hey what kinda engine is that thing?

Why it's a 2 Cylinder/1.3 liter jet engine.

2 Cyl? (laugh)...Why my tractor can beat that thing. Want to race for a crop of corn (derr, zoink, narf)? Ford Rules!

Release clutch, smoke tires and ask: "Wanna race for your G/F?" ...drive away with last laugh and big grin

2.6 L because that's the size of the engine as measured how every other engine is measured --- there have been plenty of threads on this

4 cylinder because it has 4 spark plugs (that is how most people do a quick check to see how many cylinders regular piston cars have) -- yes I know it is not really a 4 cylinder (and so does anyone who has checked the gas mileage on one )

Just say it's a 1.3L 2 rotor rotary engine. Don't be a cak! Misinformation is a ******* plague. If someone is intrigued about your car, then you shouldn't make cracks at them. Represent the RX-7 community in a positive light. And if they don't know what a rotary engine is, THEN EDUCATE! They might appreciate it for more than its rare beauty.

I usually just hold out the inside of my arm and say " That's the piston, there are two of them and they rotate" that's when I usually break into how physics prove that rotaries are superior and Rx7's were really a secret government project that formulated through mass interception of alien transmisions. ( Like CONTACT, but better)

I'm no longer faced with this dillema. Most people know a V8 when they see one...

Actually, I never had to explain the concept of the rotary engine to anyone. It was always the huge "radiator" (ASP-Racing large IC) connected to the intake that they were asking questions about.

Thats crazy......a freakin rotor tatoo...LOL. That is some hardcore ****!!! Anyway's....I tell people that its a 1.3L Twin Rotor 80 Cubic inch engine with some crazy horsepower. Normally they are puzzled but are usually very interested in how such a small engine can make so much power. Then I say "physics baby....physics" ...LOL....HEHEHE Cya Guys.

Since the RX7's were made in Hiroshima, if I'm not mistaken, you could say that the motor is made super-powerful though some kind of radioactive mutation.

I just tell them it is 80 C.I. to relate to them. Then I beat there daddys new C5 After I win they just say I am only fast because I have two turbos. If people only knew how small the turbos where on this car.

Then when I am talking about the maintanice that the car requires I love when peolpe tell me just to swap in a V8 for reliabilaty. I find it hard to educate people with closed minds. I however did have to buy the rotor key chain and the rotor oil cap for visuals in rotories 101
