What do you guys think about my fuel clamps...

Do you guys think is a good idea to put two in each line as pictured or replace them with fuel line clamps from autozone or advance with the screw for tightness?

P.S. these are new clamps from mazda.

Those should be fine. I prefer screw clamps for their longevity though.

Can't beat the OEM clamps. They have the correct clamping force and don't chew up hoses like the worm gear / screw on hose clamps.

if they are new ... they are fine , but I had the fuel lines form the fuel pump blow off because the OEM clamps had worn When I replaced my FP since then I replaced every clamp I could with fuel injector clamps and I haven't had an issue with them . they dont eat hoses like regular screw clamps either.

I like the oem clamps. Proper clamping force, and easy to remove/install.

looks good...I run these which are available at any parts store. The worm gear clamps will tear up the rubber like mentioned earlier.

Why would you want to?

If the standard clips aren't strong enough then don't risk having one fly off and just fit some quality clips.

Using 2 seems overkill to me

its not that they aren't strong enough , but they do wear out and get soft .

also running higher fuel pressure can skew things .

most of the time they already have 2 on the feed hose.

overkill? give me a break... it's called peace of mind and it hurts nothing.

It is peace of mind, but I like to follow the Colin Chapman school of thought of making sure the right part is used, in the same way we don't use M20 bolts in all of the suspension mounts for peace of mind.

You can get different widths of clamps, so maybe just use a 12mm one rather than a 9mm.

But if you want to cover all bases then fit 2, it is only personal, but I would say that it is overkill.

you mean the right part aslong as it fit mazda's budget

remember the Stock intercooler.. I'd like to know who thinks thats the right part .

i've had fuel hoses pop off while driving with these stock clamps .. if I were to use them I would without a doubt use double if I could.

Yes I have always found the Rx7 to be a slight conundrum. Some parts are amazing! They are light, beautifully made and worthy of the car. Then there are other parts that seem to have been designed on a Friday afternoon!

From the DID YOU KNOW department:

The use of the spring-style clamps was to ensure there would be constant clamping pressure on the hose. Over time, fuel hose will shrink in diameter and thereby shrink away from the clamping pressure exerted by screw-style hose clamps. Fuel being under pressure, this can lead to hoses leaking and hoses completely coming off.

I just wish the guy that thought of that at Mazda would have been working on the pre-cat design/placement and we would have been spared a whole host of problems.
