What do you guys/girls think?

I have a question on a mazda RX-7. I found this really nice RX-7, heres the dealer info on it....1994 mazda rx7 twin turbo. Car has 60,325 miles, engine has approximately 30,000 on a japanese spec replacement. Since the engine swap, it has had a new clutch, windshield and carpet installed. Since the engine replacement, car is totally stock with no modifications. So what do you guys think...having the engine swap and it being a jap spec (and if you read between the lines it say's, since the engine replacement, car is totally stock with no modifications meaning that it was most likly modded at one time),(even through the jap spec produces more HP) , there asking $22900 for it but I could probly get it for 20K. Any input would be great.

Oh ya if any of u guys/girls know of any good rx-7 sites that would be great too. Thanks, peace out.

Do you know why the vehicle has had a new windshield and carpet put in at 60,000 miles?

Good question. Maby it was in an accident. Run the VIN number to see if has any accident claims on it. look for overspray in places. Or mis matched paint. Stuff like that

Good luck

Make a compression test before you buy it.

i would be a little suspicous. but it seems like a decent deal if its in canadian money. definately check its history, and definately get a compression test. Another thing you might do is a boost test. you can do a search on boost test to find out how it works.

JDM motors don't make any more power than USDM motors. Just had to add that.

i guess that would depend on if th emotor was a later year with ....'99 spec turbos and what not then it would be making more power. right??? anyways its sounds quite reasonable im getting mine for 22500 ... more with the parts i bought for it.

Well, that's assuming he replaced the ENTIRE engine and all the components with it instead of just a shortblock. And I think that is WAY too high - I am selling mine with 128,000 miles, only 2000 miles on new engine, for $13,000 (not advertising, just for comparison). Not to mention you can find highly modified single turbo FDs in the for sale section for about $18,000.
