What to do now.

Well what do I do? I took my exhaust system off while putting on the downpipe. What do I discover but that the exhaust is a piece of ****, holes in the muffler and rusted as hell. I am going to be buying an exhaust system, and I am thinking either RB dual tip or Tanabe Medallion. What do people who have these think of them first. I know some will say search but I have and still would like some opinions.

Next I need something to replace the cat? What do I do? I don't think I can run a Midpipe, but I don't want to pay 450 for a High Flow cat.

Also what do you think is wrong with my car. It still smokes like hell and the smoke smells like gas, also the car revvs up to 3000 RPM's on the start then goes to 1500, and after it sits there for a mintue then it goes down to 1000 and then the car quits. If it is at 1500 and I revv it a little, once it goes back down it quits. WTF?

I run the RB single tip, it's a good exhaust to run it is nice and quiet. Even if I install a midpipe it wont be as loud driving under regular conditions..

That's just my opinion.

It is white, but it doesn't smell sweet like coolant, it smells like fuel.

Also to clear things up I want an exhaust that is fairly loud, not high pitched like some, and not weed-eater civic sounding. I want a low rumble, a nice smooth sound. And what to do about the cat?

your seals could be blown , but at the same time running very rich that's why you smell the fuel. What ECU do you have?

That's also probably why the car dies because you are running too rich.

Just Stock, if seals are blown is it safe to drive the car to a rotary shop 2 and a half hours away if I stop every 15 minutes or so and don't boost?

RB dual and Tanabe Medallion are two completely differnet exhausts. The RB is not a loud one, the racing medallion is loud as HELL. On performance side the both are about the same.

About the smoke take it to a rotary specialist and let him check it. It could be many things.

Do you have a solid idle? If not then it could be the seals...or the vacum hose from the MAP sensor went off. Happened to me.

I would tow the car if I were you just in case you might mess more thing driving it on the way to the shop, as far as why it is running to rich it could be a bung of reasons, I cannot pin point it without seeing the car.
