What to do to my car today for free?

I don't have to work today, so I am bored as ****. What can I do to my car that won't cost me any money? Mods listed in sig, I removed the cruise control the other day, and I am not taking out my A/C, so what else can I do? I want to make it faster, so no "put in a sound system yo" kind of things.

Since you are bored, and have some extra time, I suggest that you reinstall your cruise control. Its nice to have, doesn't weigh much, and will not hurt the performance of the car.

Best of all, its free ........... and you already have the parts

Wax it. Then remove small interior parts and clean them on both sides. If you have access to a lift, do the same thing for the heat / debris shields on the underside of the car.

Make some radiator ducting/block off plates for the undertray. It is AMAZING how much cooler my temps are after doing this.

Cut up the bottom of your stock air box and find some sheet metal to duct air into it.

Change the air in your tires. Most people don't do this until they change tires, and then its usually too late. Its a little known fact that tires wear much more frequently with "old" air in them. The old air continues to deoxidify until it begins to permeate the inner layers of rubber. Once it reaches the outer layer, it causes the rubber to have microcracks that eventually destroy the tire. I change my air every couple of months to be safe. Be sure not to use one of those cheapo air fillers either. Always use OEM Mazda.

I use bottled air, no need for a filter.

Yeah, I changed my tire air before going the track last time and I was a full 5 seconds faster per lap. I didn't use Mazda OEM air though... I forgot what it was called but I had it imported from some tuner shop in Japan at great expense. Worth it though. I've got some left over if you want to buy it.

I think that's the same stuff they use in the JGTC.

I had the air imported from japan every 6 months, because I noticed that using regular air from a gas station made my wheelspin more than the air from japan. Who know's Japanese car must like Japanese air.

Anyone got the MazdaComp part number for high-performance air? Is it legal for on-highway use?

Mazda air is Carb II certified. The military uses it in "special' ops Hum Vees. It also improves gas mileage and makes your turbo's spool faster because of the appearant differential pressure involved that is tranferred thoughout the chassis and PPF. Guys on the 2nd gen forum swear by it.

Holy cow...I never knew there was such an importance in air. IMPORTING AIR?!? How much does this cost you? This is beyond me. I have never heard of anything like this. Is there a link to a site or thread on this? I am truly dumbfounded...
