what to do with hose on greddy elbow

I am preparing to put a greddy elbow on my 94 but ran into something. The original intake elbow has a large hose going off the rear and then under the UIM. The Greddy elbow does not have a place to attach this.

Do I just plug it? (AWS?)

(I searched but did not find any reference to this.)

You can also drill a hole and use a flex connector and some JB weld. Most people just plug it up, you will notice a slight differance in Idle.

Now I need to figure out what to do about it not clearing my shock tower brace...

I am not following you on the "oil all over the firewall"? I am planning on doing this in the next few weeks and I am just curious as to why a K&N filter is recommended and you said oil will be everywhere....
*confused*

The hose is part of the Accelerated Warmup System (AWS). Go to this link and read the indepth discussion and how-to on dismantling the AWS:

Has anyone decided to 'replumb' the AWS using the
Greddy elbow? I'd like to hear what some of you have done.

Max Cooper wrote an indepth "How To" on the Greddy Elbow and options for dealing with the AWS:

hrmmm, I stuffed a little K&N on the end ... sounds like I can use that to gauge how much oil my turbo's are spewing... I think I'll leave it like that as a pre-emtive turbo death warning.

I had already read what was on Max's site
here > http://www.maxcooper.com/rx7/parts_...ml#GReddy_Elbow and also here > http://www.scuderiaciriani.com/rx7/AWS_mod.html

I was just wondering if anyone else had any first hand experience doing the replumbing, how they did it, and how it's holding up.

Yes, I have a dp, and am aware of the function of the AWS. In the past I have always overridden it by starting the car in gear. Also, I have noticed that since I have the Power FC, the engine doesn't fly up to 3k (maybe 1500 rpm) regardless of how I start the car when cold.
(Thats another discussion, does the Power FC override the 3k rpm on cold start-up?)

However, I'm concerned because Max website mentions stalling right after start-up with this hose plugged.

Assuming one goes the filter route and installed a filter element at the AWS air source hose:

If their turbos are healthy, PCV is removed, and there is a oil catch can in the system, is there any reason oil would come out of the AWS air source?

(YES, I know this thread is old...)

I just wouldn't want it to become a safety issue during track driving.
