Probably over 90% of the people with FMIC's have just gone ahead and deleted as per the procedure on Robinette's site. I on the other hand am a firm believer that the Mazda engineers weren't drinking too much Saki on the night they designed the FD and that it's there for a reason. What I did is kind of half assed, and I'm going to make up a bracket one of these days, but so far it's worked fine. I took the lower driver side bracket off the stock IC and reattached it to the crossmember like it was when the stock IC was there. I placed the "prong" of AST into the hole just like it was when the stock IC was there and then used 2 heavy duty nylon ties to secure the upper AST bracket to the battery tie down support. You can sort of see it in this pic - http://jrx7.rx7life.com/imagepages/fmicimage20.htm My long term plan is to make up a bracket to replace the zip ties but for now this is working.

I've seen a couple of cars with it bolted to the filler neck somehow.

The Blitz FMIC has a bracket that comes off of the TB IC Pipe that supports the AST.
