$150 non-bose cargo cover from Mazmart. Damn, that was costly.

Also, the $1,200 rebuild on the turbos.....should've upgraded instead.

I regret installing 5.25" components in my doors when I could have used 6.5" since I had to do custom work to make them fit anywayws.

Most of the things I regret buying I bought way back when before I knew much about the car and the 2 biggest things are both already on the list.....

turbo timer and a a/f gauge. I've never even installed the a/f gauge and I've had it for around 3 years.

I also have the Pettit toe links and trailing arms, I wish I'd never got those as they rattle over rough surfaces like gravel ect. I probably should have just got a upgraded bushing setup instead or if we'd had them back then a diff brace prob would have worked. Actually now that I think about it the best setup probably would have been the upgraded bushings and a TII diff. Then I could launch the car decent without fear of busting the diff all over the track.

Anyway, I cant think of much else that I bought that I regret. Most people should either just minor simple boltons with a upgraded Pettit ecu OR go all out with a big IC like a V mount, single turbo, and standalone computer. There is no middle ground because most everyone eventually ends up falling into one of 2 categories....either mildly modded and safe OR wild, there really isnt anyone that stays middle ground so just skip it and either spend the money for wild or stay mild. Thats my .02, and if you can't afford the single then keep it mild with a few boltone and a upgraded Pettit ecu because you cant afford the replace the engine.

Stephen

Heath, I just noticed that you're in the Bay Area. By chance, did you buy that car from a someone in San Francisco? I saw that car a few blocks from my house burnt up just like that and figured it to be the same. This was maybe 2 years ago.

Yup! exactly when/where i got it. ill bet you its the same car! its in oakland now in my backyard. ive stripped it down to just the chassis... motor is out, as well as everything else from the engine compartment, and ALL of the interior/dash etc is in my basement. im just waiting to take it in to get the engine bay painted.... i need to find a "reasonably priced" shop in the bay area (yeah right) that does good work to do the paint work. after that i can get mount the new subframe which is on its way and FINALLY get the 20b in. then im sure i will fiddle with it for another 15 years trying to get it to run

SpeedKing, you live in SF still?

Yep, work and go to school here. Head out to Rick's for service and C2 in Oakland for my alignments. Good luck w/ the car - you definitely have your work cut out for you! And BTW, I just remembered that thread now when your whole interior was full of mold!

My non-working AEM UEGO wideband that I have been too lazy to figure out what is wrong with. I hope the warranty isnt up yet...

With all the threads about how useless the a/f guages and turbo timers are, I cant believe that so many people still bought them!

I regret buying a set of 550 cc injectors. I thought mine were leaking because I was smelling fuel. Now, the fuel smell is gone.

Hey, does anyone want to buy them from me. Recently cleaned an tested by RC engineering.

I actually find my Turbo timer to be helpful. When I need to open my garage, and use the garage door keyt, I can pull my keys from the ignition without having to shut the engine off. Also, since I have a mine battery that has sut a small reserve, I end-up having to, jump start and let my alternator recharge the battery. The turbotimer set to ten minutes works great for this.

Carbon Fiber vented headlight cover, pretty but doesn't fit unles I stop being lazy and modify it...

Cheapo short shifter that rattles like mad

Ebay intake hard pipes that doesn't fit (the top one fits)

Used RB intake duct and foam filter I threw in the trash because it was too used (broken, nasty)

My 2 exes

a huge collection of gamecube and gameboy games that I don't even use (some still in wrapper after months)

My Traxxas T-maxx I hopped up a lot and then stop using it... been sitting in my closet for a year

2 tiny wankel engines used in model airplanes I planned to use on a twin rotor RC car but never did... still in boxes

My 6 megapixel camera I rarely use...

etc
