what could i do w/o ecu upgrade?
I am looking to get the 99 bumper and figured while I have it off to put in the Greddy 2 row intercooler and and APEXi intake. My question is, if I also install a downpipe, will I still be able to run w/o updating my ecu? If I had the money I would just get the ecu and put on a cat-back at the same time, but I don't right now. Thanks for your help guys. I'm just about to actually do something with my car. And I finally got a full-time teaching job, so the loot will be coming in consistently now!!! Thanks for the replies.

Try searching the forum, there are tons of info espeically in the last couple of days.
basically, you can run whatever mods you want as long as it's stock boost or below. Anything more than that and there is risk. Thus, you can run intake/dp/cb and be fine if you run stock boost w/o spiking or creeping.

Also, to answer your title:

You can do suspension upgrades. Strut bars, coilovers, springs, etc... Lowering springs and a front strut bar were two upgrades I'm really glad I did.
