What can the stock ECU handle?
I know i need a ecu upgrade, but can't afford it,and i have to go with a midpipe and i know the stock ecu is set for 10 lbs boost, but i've heard it can handle up tp 12 lbs of boost,is that true? So as long as i don't go over 12 lbs of boost ,my air/fuel mix should be ok,until i can get a ECU

Most people usually say that after 2 performance mods (usually ones that deal with airflow), you need an ECU.
I've talked to other people that say the stock ECU sucks, period, and it should be the first mod (aside from a boost gauge).
If you like your car, don't do a midpipe until you can upgrade the CPU.

IMO, I wouldn't run the midpipe w/o an upgraded ECU. The general consensus seems to be only 2 intake or exhauset mods w/o upgraded ECU. why do you have to go to a midpipe? If it is because your cat is clogged you should be able to pick up a used cat pretty cheap.
You MAY also be able to run the midpipe if you have some type of boost control and keep it at 10 psi rather than 12. Others may have an opinion about this though since I am not sure.
