what to buy with $800 (exclud. PFC)

hey every1,
I have about $800 to spend on my car but i cant get the PFC just yet (dad has an issue with the power i could make). What would you buy? Mods are in my sig. I was thinking a defi link water temp gauge to replace my crap-o-meter a/f gauge, water injection system, a-la Zerobanger, and a NPR medium intercooler to be used later. Or do u think i should skip the intercooler and WI until i have the PFC and get a VIS carbon fiber KS hood instead?

any and all opinions welcome!

-Zach

Dood, does your dad drive you car? I would do anything I could to get the PFC. It is the best upgrade I have done to my car. Not to mention the gact that you can ensure you engine is getting enough fuel so you don't detonate and blow your engine.

Kick your dads ***. Or put my PowerFC in and show him all it's glory... He'll change his mind when you wipe your *** with his Dinan 5....

Seriously though... I think you are on the right track... NPR, Water injection and good gauges. I even have a few J and U bend pipes you can use for IC piping.

instead of further modding the car with the money (since you can't get an ecu), why don't you spend it on fixing your "problems" listed in your sig? If not I'd recomend (besides what was already said): a new radiator, a torque brace, diff brace, strut bar... simple (but effective) **** like that.

If you buy the PFC only without commander. (All you can get for 800) you will only be able to run stock boost anyways. Its more of a reliability mod unless you have a commander or datalogic to adjust boost etc. The ECU comes set for 10 psi. It drives Much better with the PFC and gets rid of that bad 3k hesitation and will perform marginally better but its not a huge power mod in itself with base map and boost. I say get the PFC for sure. Anything else is just burning the money without Engine management.

yea i believe i'll be doing a LOT of little mods. First of all i'll most likely be getting the NPR IC with water injection to keep detonation at zero. As well as getting Fluidyne rad and possibly a 2nd oil cooler off of an R1. Then the braces and possibly a headunit. The current headunit i have is a double-DIN sized one and i want to use the space under a regular sized one for my defi link controller and turbo timer for a really clean install. Opinions?

btw, the IC and WI will be fine on the stocker ECU as long as boost is 9-10psi, correct?

yea regarding those...what would cause my car to have body roll? NO fd ive ever seen before has the front end scrape on the drivers side auto-x'ing on *right* hand turns. My best guess is a cracked bushing or something in the a-arms and the suspension up there.

the squeak is only noticable by a OCD rx7 owner like myself and the problem with the headunit is just one wire that came loose when i slid it back into place....I can live with the squeak and can fix the radio in 5min, once i get off my *** and grab a flashlight

Buy injectors, and fuel pump. This is something you'll need down the road anyway.
