What are the best of everything that you use?

1. Spark Plugs - NGK 9s?

2. Engine oil - Valvoline 50 SAE?

3. Exhaust - GReddy SP?

4. Intake - Petit?

5. Brake pads - Hawk HPS?

The brands that I listed are the ones that I know of so far that are at least decent. Are there any other ones that you guys/girls use?

Thanks.

Dan.

Re: What are the best of everything that you use?

1. Spark Plugs - NGK 9s

2. Engine oil - Castrol 10w-30 (giving Mobil 1 a shot after I fix my oil leak)

3. Exhaust - Blitz Nur-Spec

4. Intake - Apexi

5. Brake pads - EBC Green Stuff'

Best is a pretty vague term when it comes to performance parts, best in what? Quality? Performance? Long life? Price?

The reason why I didn't want to choose an exhaust like the NUR Spec or the N1 one is simply because in California you'd get a ticket for it.

For engine oil, I just recently got my FD and want to do the oil change but don't know which brand is the best one to use. There seems to be many different opinions on this one.

For the intake, how does the Apex'i compare to the Pettit one? Also the cost for an Apex'i intake?

Thanks.

Dan.

One more Question: What are the sizes for stock FD front and rear speakers?

the rear speakers are 6x8 ( a very odd size) and can be known as 5x7 as well.

Your questions are vague, as stated, it depends. Oil, just use whatever and change it and the oil filter often, that is more important thatn what kind of oil you use.

I live in northern california and a canister exhaust doesn't get you a ticket, although it does attract more attention. I have the RB duel, i like it.

Get all 9s if you are running higher boost than stock. I think the pettit intake functions better in getting cool air while looking ghetto as h-ll, while the apex-i is the best 'hot air' intake. The apex-i won't work with most smic.

Can you please explain a little bit more as to what KY is? Thanks.

I have a 93 base FD so are the 6x8 or 5x7 hard to find? What sizes are the fronts?

Thanks.

Dan.

Actually KY is a JDM product very difficult to come by.. it stands for Korean Yeltoid. It is an additive to your gasoline, and makes your engine run sooo smooth.

1. Spark Plugs - NGK 9s

2. Engine oil - The cheapest 20w-50 dino oil out there, 10w-40 for those in colder climates

3. Exhaust - HKS Race ti 4" full straight pipe exhaust (or any 4" full straight pipe exhaust)

4. Intake - Custom true cold air intake (routed a pipe to the front where the second oil cooler is suppose to be)

5. Brake pads - Hawk HPS+ (I have used ebc greens stuff before and they don't compare to the Hawk's HPS+ although the Hawk HPS+ does have a lot more dust!)
