I hate to say this, but it has been said to me soo many times that I have stopped counting.

But
"SEARCH"

Search the engine management sections, 3rd gen section, the single turbo section and even the advanced tech section. Hell, search all the forums. I have found all the info needed to get into more then enough trouble tuning. Be careful.

Hell, I am still told to search.

First thing is to decide what ECU you will be using. After that, we have an ECU forum which can help you (depending on your ECU choice):

Im a newb tuner as well...here's what I have been lead to believe.

duty cycle is how hard the injector is working to do what you are asking it to do...100% = bad because the injector can not supply enough fuel under the load= lean = pop.

wideband is an o2 sensor that tells you how much fuel is in the exhaust. 11's are ideal...the lower the number the richer the fuel. The data logit has better resolution than the display on the o2 wideband so I dont use it.

I run 13's at idle because I cant calibrate my tps right now and 9-11 during full throttle. I use the pfc with data logit and basically watch others tune the cells for me as we tinker with the mixture.

Based on the mods list..if you dont have a new ecu I'd stay off the boost. You're looking for a pop.

The duty cycle is the amount of time in percent that the injector is open as oppesed to being closed. 100% percent would mean that your injector is staying open and not closing at that point. 85% means that it is open for %85 pecent of the time and closed only 15%.

Pulse width is the time in milliseconds that the injector is popped open per combustion cycle. Basically,it's the amount of time voltage is in a closed circuit on the injector.

Pulse width is basically what you want to change and duty cycle is kind of like a monitoring of how much you are pushing on your injectors.

You can decrease pulsewidth and increase fuel pressure to lower your duty cycle, but that will tax your fuel pump and fuel supply sytem.

Hate to be an ***, but if you don't know what duty cycles, injectors, and widebands are, then you seriously are not ready to "step up to the tunnin now." Spend some time to do a little research, and in the meantime, have a professional tune your car.

It doesn't sound like he was flaming or being a smart *** at all. All he was saying is that you can find a lot of useful info out there if you look. If the info is too general and you have a specific question then ask away, there are probably a few tuning gurus out there that would be happy to help.
