Welcome to another edition of "place that connector"

Hi!
Sorry bout this.. My car has been in atoms for 3 years now, going on 4th year.. and im in the final stages of getting it back together. It was three years since i tore it down, and so much has happened since then in my life that i cant remember where stuff goes... I have most of it figured out, but theres a few weird things here and there. My car is a 93, and afaik. in 94, they had a review on the wiring loom? I got a hold of a veeery low milage wiring loom as the old one made crispychips seem like soggy jelleybeans... The old one had a few torn connectors and wires as well, adding to the sheit... but, here goes...

Going PFC, and deleting air pump, AC, powersteering, AND going aezknight simplified solenoid kit, for info.

1:
Theese two... are they for some power steering force feedback thing? They go over to the right side(from standing in front looking at engine) and make a turn there on the old wiring loom i layed out, but i couldnt find anything to connect em to, and couldnt find any connectors on the power steering reservoir and pump..

2 and 3:
Im guessing one is for the water temp thermo switch on the rear of the coolant house next to the dynamo, and one is connected to the old secondary fuelrail, on the middle there? Witch one is witch? Im going KGparts secondary rail, so one will not be used..

4 and 5:
Im guessing theese are for the two solenoids in the back of the picture, but witch one goes to who?

5.
This blue one has me headcrathing bad..! I have seen a few pics where it goes somewhere down to the left of the two solenoids in the previous pictures, behind the airpump somewhere, but.. where? There is no connector there in my car, and the airpump has no connector like it...

6.
This round bastard.... i cant find a single round connector anywhere...

7. this one, no clue...

8. and this one..? no idea..

Thanks for taking the time to have a go at this

cheers!

1.) Crank angle sensors. go on the front of the block just behind the pulley.
2.)Goes to water pump housing ( I think)
3.) Goes to secondary fuel rail (I think)
6.) back of the water pump housing
8.) Looks like the knock sensor disconnect to me.

Anything I didnt answer is because i just dont know. most things on my car were deleted before my time. I saw all these connectors earlier today while unwrapping my harness but I dont remember the wire colors.

5 is not used, and 8 may be for your O2 sensor on the downpipe.... hard to tell from that picture.

You need a new harness btw, that one looks to be in pretty bad shape.

I say lay it down all spread out and take a picture, then label the ones your not sure about so we can all have a good look. sometimes you can tell by the plug, other times by the plug near it.

+1

If you aren't going with a Haltech or Microtech anytime soon, get a new OEM harness. Your FD wants you to spend more money.... trust me

1. Crank angle sensors, white goes on top when installing
2. Water Thermosensor
3. Fuel Thermosensor

Now the pictures get out of order, so I will use your numbering
4 & 5
4 (yellow/blue strip) is the turbo control solenoid mounted on the ACV. 5 if it is blue/white stripe it is the wastegate control, it might still have the white spot on the connector. Look for a blue/yellow stripe connector which will be the precontrol, those two mount on the double solenoid in the pic. Precontrol connects to the left solenoid

5. EGR function switch
6. Fan Switch, mounted under water thermosensor
7. Purge control valve in front on throttlebody
8. O2, grey mount gives it away.

thanks everyone for good help

My harness is in good shape, the pictures here are from the old one we laid out, as it was baked and shaped over the years, to see if we could better match things up than with the new soft harness

If his harness is in bad shape I wonder what mine is considered. it's stiff and such. O well, I am doing a single turbo conversion to it now anyway so no use hacking up a new harness.

^That's the wrong way to look at it, you'll still be using important wires and connectors for things such as the CAS and fuel injectors. If there is an issue with any of the above it can lead to running/starting problems and worst case a blown motor. I've converted many new engine harnesses to single turbo over the years......

After unwrapping it it really isnt very stiff. most of the stiffness came from the old tape and wire loom protector that have been baked over the years. The actual wiring is in very good shape aswell, with the exception of the knock sensor wire. That one must have got caught on something in the past.
