Weird Tranny Noise

Its not a clunk, its not loud at all. I was just sitting in the car warming it up since its been sitting for a few days, and I hear this noise like inside the tranny, maybe a grinding but not even because that would be loud. Like a very very low whop whop whop sound. Then it disapears when I engage the clutch. Does this mean by clutch is going or something in the tranny is. (this was in neatral ofcourse)

Ive heard about this, is this hard to replace? In the sense of the tranny already being taken down? If the tranny comes down for that I would just do the syncros while Im there too.

yes you need to drop the tranny to replace the bearing. you do not need to open the tranny to replace the bearing. so redoing your sychros is up to you. i would replace the pilot bearing also though while you have the tranny out.

easy to replace, might as well put a new clutch in if you haven't replaced it yet. also check the pilot bearing

The cluctch is relatively new, since the past owner changed it only 2000 miles before he gave it to me. Could it have been worn early to do crappy bushings? Causing the drivetrain to flex and hop to much?
