Weird grinding in 2nd gear..........??

Just several weeks ago ( might be even a month or two) when I shift into 2nd, it sorta grinds/vibrates it's way into 2nd. This is in the pretty cold morning, I let the car warm up for a GOOD 7-8 minutes, using the stock temp gauge until the needle is almost at the center. Even then I always drive very carefully and shift slow and soft, but it's just this 2nd gear that makes this weird feeling. Could it be that the tranny/gears are still cold? Because later on in the day it doesn't do that......

Thanks.

common condition, most people switch to synthetic and it gets much better. i don't know if it is actually something wrong, or just the way it is.

Yeah synthetic tranny oil is safe, I know of a few peeps that use it and it works fine. A bit pricey at around $10/quart tho but it's the best stuff out there for the tranny. I think it was either Royal Purple or Redline.....

I have the same problem on cold starts. And yes it goes away when warmed up and driving during the day. I have yet to switch to syn. though, which I intend on doing.
