Don't know if anyone posted this before.
I am in the process of changing out my stock downpipe and before I put in the new one, I weighted them.

Stock is 22lbs
Generic SS is 6lbs
HKS mild steel 12lbs

Car only has 106k km ... which is around 66k miles and the stock pre cat is dead.
Was hearing rattling when I drive and thou it was the heat shields; turned out it's the cat rattling. The pre cat contents are shattered

Deciding between the no name and HKS ....

No name will flow better and lighter but noiser .... (will running stock everything else)
HKS will sound nicer and better fitment. (you can see the flattened portion designed to fit JDM cars too)

 

So long as the flanges are flat, just go with the SS one. It isn't going to be that loud.

 

I just don't want the ringing sound and just a smoother sound.

Now that I've done this once, it's pretty easy to swap back and forth ....

Btw, HKS flanges are a lot more beefier than the SS one ....

 

You don't really get that ringing/tin-y sound unless it's a single turbo.

 

You can probably shake the loose stuff out of the precat, and clear it out. It will be quieter than the others.

 

Personally I don't like any of those, but I'd keep the support bracket at the downstream end.

 

Some thermal exhaust heat wrap tape will help with the tinging sound a bit... Not to mention the heat...
