Weak braking after painting calipers

Just painted my front calipers red yesterday with high-temp spray paint and when I put it back together I bleed both brakes and the brakes seem to be weaker. When cruising I press the brakes it reaches the floor and doesn't brake that good, then i press it again straight after it and the pedal doesn't reach the floor and braking is fairly better, but the third time the braking is perfect.

So I have to pump it 3 times in order to make it brake normally ie. brake get stiffer after the 3rd pump and works better. I bleed the system twice already. Still have this problem and almost rammed into the back of a car about 30mins ago!!!

Help!

You need to bleed the brakes better, still air in the system.

Power Bleeder: http://motiveproducts.com/

If they are still bad after you are certain they are well-bled, you need a new master cylinder. Sometimes they go bad when you bleed if the fluid in there is old and there is corrosion inside the master cylinder bore at the end of the stroke.

Note that this should not make people fear bleeding -- more frequent flushes and bleeding actually prevent this kind of master cylinder damage by not allowing corrosion to form at the end of the stroke.
