which way to go next?
I have only had my RX7 (93-k type r-83kms) about 6mths and have done a couple of basic mods,F1-stainless cat back exhaust, gutted cat, apexi power intake, polished intake pipes and a dump valve. The car just does not seem to be consistant, sometimes holding back, sometimes feeling pretty quick. I have been talking to various garages and most are recomending an apexi power fc-comander. I have previously had an MR2 turbo with 300bhp all home brewed,so i know i little about turbo tuning. I admit however that i am a little lost to say the least with this car. Any advice people? p.s havent really been driving it as dont want to do any damage

Home brewing RX7 horses is a bit different compared to MR2 turbo.
First of all, too much airflow through RX7 without upgraded/tuned ECU (like PowerFC, Pettit, M2) will make your horses die
Read throug the FAQs and you will learn a lot.
For first steps, I would advise you to get boost gauge, boost controller to limit boost to 10psi and an exhaust restrictor as open exhaust can lead to boost creep and deadly detonation.
Happy reading.

Just thought it would be easier to ask the question ey,looks like youv'e done a fair few bits to your motor though,i have a boost gauge and it seems to be boosting upto about 0.9 to 1 bar

Yes, I have all those mods and my motor is still running. Mainly and probably because I read all that I could come across about tuning FDs.
Please for your own good start reading up on the tuning topics in the FAQ. There is a lot of good info there.
If you are boosting that high, your motor will detonate on stock ECU and break apex seals, requiring rebuild and possibly turbos.
For the fan mod - simple way to turn your fans on at will is to turn on the AC and set it to level 3 (if its cold you can pull the AC relay and AC will not come on, but fans will anyway).
