water temp gauge location (mechanical)

I just bought a auto meter mechanical water temp gauge and was looking for a plac to install it. There is a plug on top of the water pump that looks good. where did you all place yours?

The best place to mount it is right in front of the thermostat on the filler neck. You will see a flat spot just above and to the left of the stock sensor. Just thread it with a NPT tap and you're good to go. You will need the adapter that Autometer sells though, as the probe they send you has too large a threaded collar to fit.
