CA water pump service interval?

Hello! I have a stock FD with 66k miles. As far as I can tell, it hasn't had any 60k service done to it.

I looked for something definitive but could not find anything. But I'd be perfectly happy for someone to link me something and tell me I didn't look hard enough.

What is the recommended service interval for the water pump? Anything else not in the owners manual I should be looking to refresh? (I've tackled or plan to tackle everything else recommended).

I'm coming from Nissan VG land...we replace timing belt, water pump, idler pulleys, etc at 60k; the Mazda stuff is completely new to me.

Hmmm, does Nissan actually recommend in writing replacing the WP?

Replacing the water pump on a rotary is only needed if the bearings are noisy or it is leaking.

many piston cars have a timing belt driven water pump, being that some of those cars it requires upwards of 10 hours to replace the timing belt they recommend replacing the water pump at the same time. replacing the water pump only may foul the belt with oil and/or coolant and that is why they recommend both at the same time.

rotaries have easy to service water pumps, there is no interval. replace it when it shows signs of leakage from the weephole or the bearings become slack and it begins making noise. it's not recommended to just replace it ***** nilly because you may wind up needing to replace the housing to block gasket as well, if you're not careful this turns the easy job a bit more complicated.
