Question water leak

Hi everyone this is my first post, ive just bought another RX and it has a problem

Their is a constant drip of coolant dripping into the passenger side footwell and this seems to be coming from the plastic thing behind the gloovebox which i assume is the heater matrix, is this thing hard to remove to inspect the leak, what should i do, any advice would be great.

Yes, if it IS the heater core, it is VERY difficult to remove. The first step in the factory manual's instructions actually say, "remove dash".
Which sucks.
Big time.

oh dear oh dear it looks a bit of a job, will an additive do the trick maybe as it is only a drip, id even consider blanking off the heater system to save cash being the skinflint i am. what kind of cost are we talking getting a 'specialist' to sort it??

where city, state do you live in? Might want to pre-emtively find yourself an FD or RX7 specialist in your area. Go back to the home page and scroll down to the regional forums.

If you are handy, I'd get a flash light and try and locate the leak. Could be a loose hose or something...

^ the problem is you can't get to ANYTHING without first exposing the heater core.

For an easy bypass, just get a length of hose to go from the heater core inlet to the block inlet. You will see where the hose goes into the firewall and where it comes out and feeds back across your firewall. If you look close there is a metal line that runs alongside the passenger side of engine bay that the 'heater' hose attaches to. You could splice that into the inlet (the funky little black plastic connector on the rear of the block under the oil filter.
