Water FMIC?

Has anyone used the windshield wiper resovoir to make a water cooled intercooler? I am thinking about taking on this task, but I am just curious to see if anyone else has done this. I know there are water injection kits, but I'm looking just to spray cold water on the FMIC.

Just curious for some feedback if anyone has undertaken this idea.

I asked about this a while back and never got a good answer. The problem i ran into was the windshild whipers when you squirt water they start whiping with no water on the windshild, couldn't figure out how to get rid of that.

I recently got a seibon oem carbon fiber hood. It ended up having biger holes than the stock hood for the squirters. instead of trying to make them fit i just took some extra tubbing and ran the squirters down into my smic duct and aimed them there. I know your asking about fmic but on my smic it doesn't do ****. and as above stated your wipers do wipe and smear your wind sheild when you go to squirt the water. I dont think it's worth it

The Canadian fd's have headlight washers so I thought about running the lines down to my fmic and trying it. I haven't had the motivation to do this. BTW there is a seperate switch on the center consol for the headlight washers so you don't have to worry about your windsheild being sprayed all of the time.

Or find an FD with a rear wiper system and swap over the tank and switch and run a line to the engine bay along side the fuel lines.

So you want to spray ambient temp (or hotter) water on a piece of metal already exposed to ambient temps?

I've never heard of anyone with intake air temp or heat soaking problems with an FMIC, best to spray the radiator!

I asked a few of the gurus about this a little while ago, except on the SMIC. They pretty much all said the same thing... for the time and hassle you're going to put into getting this system to work, the gain will be minut, and you're better off just getting water injection. Hey Tyler, it took me a second to realize that people weren't actually trying to spray ambient temp hotter on their ICs lol
