Water in Engine????

My RX-7 died while sitting in traffic last night. Wouldn't start.....Had it towed to my house, then this A.M. had it towed to my Mechanic (Maztech in Tampa)......Am told that water came out of the spark plug hole when the plug was removed......There was no warning......just normal going home traffic (keeps you under the speed limit for sure!). The temp guage was normal. My Odometer had quit just two days before (unrelated).

The engine was rebuilt 20 months ago and has only had about 15k put on it since.

Any suggestions?

Hope you had a warranty. Sounds like it is time for a rebuild.

That's weird. I drove my car around for like a month w/ bad seals. Never died on me.
Are you sure it's water and not gas?

Your mechanic doesn't know the difference between water and gas. Your mechanic probably flooded your engine during the diagnosis process. That is why there is gas when he pulls out the plugs. I would say unflood it and get a second opinion.

The mechanic said it was water.....he did the rebuild about 15-20k ago.

On top of that, My job was eliminated on Friday....so now I don't have a job....guess the RX-7 will have to go into my garage for awhile, before I can rebuild?

Pull the plugs out and let and leave the car like that over night. Clean and dry off the plugs or get new plugs. Put them back in and try to turn it on.
