^^ that's why I said buy OEM. It's expensive but it's quality

On that note never ever buy an aftermarket thermostat.

My motor made it to 112K miles. I suspected when I bought the car at around 90K it was in for some major work. Was right. The coolant thing was happening then & tried the leaky hose, cap & a host of a few other things fixes. I hope that you aren`t suffering from a coolant seal failure but you do have a lot of miles on that engine. Good luck & maybe you won`t have to do anything major.
