Water below rear bins?
Well, I just cut the bottom out of the drivers side rear bin, and it's full of water. Anyone ever had this problem before? I was gonna move the battery there, but I think I need to find the cause of this first. Where would I even start looking? I'll try to put up a picture if I can find my camera.
Well, I tried drying most of it up with a towel. I started lifting the insulation up and guess what. Even more water. AHHHH. It hasn't rained in a couple of weeks. I have no clue where it could have came from.
Yeah I thought about that, but would water sit that long in there before drying up? I wonder if the service manual shows where the drain tubes go. I'll try looking for that real quick.

I just relocated my battery to the bin behind the driver. While drilling through for the hold-down bolts, I noticed a round hole, about an inch in diameter, in the floorpan that communicates directly with the space under the bins - you can stick your finger through and feel the "felt". It's probably only an inch or so toward the center of the car from the point in the bin that is closest to the side of the car. Fortunately mine is dry. I don't know if this is supposed to have a rubber plug in it or not, but you might want to check yours and see. I suppose if you do, you could remove it for a while to give the water some place to go. If you don't, could driving in really wet conditions gotten enough water up there to be a problem? (Doesn't seem as likely as the sunroof drain theory, but I don't have a sunroof and don't know where they are supposed to drain.)
