Pretty much what the title says. I bought a turbo kit with the wastegate already on it. I don't know how to tell the size. I know they are measure in millimeters, but what is being measured?

Usually it's the size of the valve on the wastegate. If you post up some pics of the wastegate, someone would likely recognize the make and model of it and know what size it is.

It originally came with a T78 turbo setup.

I believe the inner-diameter of the pipe coming off the exhaust manifold into the wastegate is what is measured.

The WG that comes with the t78 is what greddy calls their "TypeR wg". This is a 47mm. The size is the diameter of the valve.
