wastegate flapper swap question.

I am doing the non sequential conversion on my car. I swapped the stock flapper for the bigger one. I had to grind off the welds on the waste gate flapper sleeve and cut down the sleeve so that the bigger flapper can fit.
Is this "sleeve cutting" a normal procedure when doing the swap? I couldn't find any other way to making it fit with out grinding the turbine housing lip.

Usually people grind off material from the back so it can open farther. Is that what you're talking about?

Where did you source the flapper from?

you can just grind a little off the side and it fits fine, then hog it out like crazy. I still got boost creep with full 3in exhaust though, had to add a silencer to get it under controll

I had to grind off a little of the turbine housing lip but most importantly i had to cut the sleeve and make it shorter for the flapper sit right.

the stock flapper. To the right of the flapper you can see the space i had to eliminate.

the bigger flapper with the sleeve cut. minimal space

to the right of the picture is the stock sleeve . to the left is the cut down version.

Has anyone done this?
